If the speed test isn't working in your browser, include your browser name and version, whether you're on Wi-Fi or wired, and your approximate location so we can investigate.

Screenshots of the result screen and the status message shown when the test failed help us diagnose problems faster.

Before you contact your ISP

If you believe your speeds are below your plan, first re-test over Ethernet, at different times of day, and on more than one device. Include those results when you reach out to support — they are the evidence your ISP needs to act.

Frequently asked

Is the test really free? Yes. It runs entirely in your browser, needs no account, and we fund it through affiliate commissions that never change how the measurement works.

Why is my result different from my plan? Advertised speeds are maximums, and Wi-Fi, router placement, device limits, and network congestion all reduce real-world throughput. Retest over Ethernet and at different times of day before comparing.

Do you store my test data? Only a small anonymous summary (speeds, latency, duration, coarse location). Your IP is stored only as a short-lived hash for abuse protection, and test payloads are never stored.

Speed test limitations

Upload speeds can be throttled or capped separately from downloads on some plans, so a fast download with a slow upload is often the plan working as designed rather than a fault.

A single measurement is a snapshot. Network traffic, time of day and local congestion all shift results, which is why comparing a few runs across different days is more meaningful than any one number.
